Culture . About the Fleet Service Supervisor Role As a 2nd Shift
Fleet Service Supervisor, you'll supervise technicians on set
performance expectations, including safety, efficiency, compliance
to policy/regulations daily. Direct supervision of up to 6-8
full-time diesel mechanics - managing their work flow and assign
tasks to maintain a fleet of approx. 80 heavy trucks (primarily
CNG-powered). Responsibility for employee performance reviews and
feedback, scheduling time off, employee grievances or complaints,
pay changes and job responsibilities. What You'll Do To be
successful as a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor you'll be expected to
perform the following tasks:
- Oversees the day-to-day 2nd shift maintenance operations of
technicians in the shop.
- Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs -
monitoring progress and quality.
- Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are
met.
- Supervises effective utilization of vehicle assets.
- Reviews driver repairs and other maintenance requests, and
prepares work order documents.
- Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the relatively new
14-bay shop through regular inspections and preventative
maintenance programs.
- Monitors inventory of replacement parts and restocks as
needed.
- Oversees personnel including coaching, training, evaluating
employee performance, and conducting disciplinary action as needed.
Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion
decisions.
- Interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational
policies and safety regulations.
- Updates and submits reports as necessary. Supervisory
ResponsibilitiesThe highest level of supervisory skills required in
this job is the management of non-supervisory employees. This
includes:
- Direct supervision of 5-8 full-time 2nd shift employees
including: mechanics/technicians What Does It Take to Be a Fleet
Service Supervisor? Below are the minimum qualifications to be a
fit for this job.Education and Experience
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
- Experience: Four (4) years of relevant work experience
- Heavy Truck experience preferred Other Knowledge, Skills or
Abilities Required
- Maintenance and repairs skills, and supervisory experience may
